Welcome to the Gilded Paw!

Having a deep love for animals, and in particular dogs, THE GILDED PAW is a dream the Moyer family has had for many of their 34 married years. Although that dream was of the "brick and mortar" type of store, it was never realized until June 2004, when owner Kristine Moyer encountered some frustrating problems ordering collars online for her four dogs, Gigi and Chanel (toy poodles) and Krimpet and Pugsley (pugs). Since Kris had ordered collars many times before (she collects them for her babies), there should have been no problems, but suddenly she discovered one snag after another. Time and again, she was told "they were out of stock" or "back-ordered," but was told the collars would arrive within a couple of weeks. That time span turned out to be over six months later, when she finally gave up and requested her money back, having found one site that really had them in stock. That experience led to THE GILDED PAW and their commitment to never make "the customer wait an unfairly long period of time." In fact, THE GILDED PAW has IN STOCK each and every product you see, with the exception of some of the bed styles and custom items, which where noted, will be drop shipped directly from the manufacturer. No long waiting for something you should receive in a matter of days!!

The Moyers are certainly not newcomers to the love and ownership of dogs. Kris, an only child, was raised with her best friend and playmate Maxi, a German boxer, and later a dear little pekingese Spunky. Hubby Stan grew up with a white poodle, Andy, and later his parents acquired several beautiful and much-loved cats. Their daughter Elizabeth, also an only child, grew up with more dogs than most families will acquire in a lifetime. Dear Nicki (samoyed), sweet little Alfie (miniature poodle), beloved Shang Su (shar-pei, back in the 80s when shar-pei were very rare), sweet gentle Blackjack (black male shar-pei), playful Muffet (shar-pei), and now, living at home with her parents, Elizabeth shares her deep love with their four family members, baby dolls Gigi and Chanel (toy poodles) and precious Krimpet and Pugsley (pugs). For many years the Moyers showed their shar-pei. Their beloved Shang Su became one of the first champion shar-pei in the country, her gentle, loving nature capturing the hearts of every person she met! A true lady she was!

THE GILDED PAW is family owned and operated by Kris and Stan Moyer, and their daughter, Elizabeth.  Kris has many years of experience in retail, having worked as a retail supervisor for Royal Doulton, as well as a buyer for over 10 years for the family-owned  jewelry store.  Her husband Stan was also a buyer for the jewelry store.  Daughter Elizabeth brings to THE GILDED PAW her knowledge of retail, having worked for Lane Bryant. The Board of Directors, however, runs the show - Gigi, Chanel, Krimpet and Pugsley, acting as product testers and models. Each and every item must pass their stringent scrutiny!! The products chosen must be of the utmost quality, decorative, yet functional in nature, and distinctive in appearance. After all, why should your beloved family members and companions settle for less than absolute comfort and beauty! As the saying goes, "man's best friend." We want each and every cat or dog to FEEL like the family member they are, making their lives more comfortable and luxurious, as well as FUN!!

It has been said, "They ask so little, and give so much." Your cat or dog is a true loyal and loving family member who, as the years pass, leaves paw prints on our hearts.
